TIME MACHINE POET OF THE WEEK
FREDDIE GIBBS

We are now announcing only the second time we have named a living person for our “Time Machine Poet of the Week” tribute. Hailing from the streets of Gary, Indiana; Freddie Gibbs has created his own stylized flow, equipped with story-telling that exhibits the essence of legends such as Tupac and Scarface. I was introduced to Gibbs in 2014; I first heard his collaboration with Joey Bada$$ “Carry On” and then listened to the masterpiece and possibly his best album “Piñata” produced by Madlib.
Songs like “White Range” and “BFK” bring forth a manifestation of Tony Montana and the Vice City aura that’s rare to capture in 2018. He is easily in the top 5 rappers alive and that’s if he’s not already the best hip-hop artist producing music at-the-moment. With the release of 2018’s self-titled album “Freddie” and his on-going popularity – his demand is climbing. Freddie Gibbs is our TIME MACHINE POET OF THE WEEK.
This is an official PROJECT ASTRAL article.
