Born 1838?
Died October 15, 1918 (aged 97)

Shirdi, India

Sai Baba of Shirdi, an Indian mystic, and Saint in Hinduism/Islam mastered many miracles during his lifetime.  Sai Baba had the power of Dhouti Yoga and invented his own form that included the removal of his intestines and body parts for “internal cleansing”.  He would hang his intestines to dry on a nearby tree while he removed the rest of his body in a similar fashion.  Sai Baba was also a guru of Khanda Yoga and was seen completing the act by devotees and common men.

It’s not exactly known if Sai Baba was Muslim or Hindu, but both religions praise his miracles and believe him to be a holy avatar.  For many years, Sai Baba lived in solitary and spoke in puzzling tounges, he would roam the nearby forests to meditate and forge for food; his strange ways attracted followers who helped forge the Sai Baba’s movement and beliefs.  He performed acts of multilocation (being two places at once), transvection (levitation), spiritual healing, and telepathy (mind reading).  Sai Baba devoted himself to Godly scriptures, the path of God (Bhakti Yoga), the path of Knowledge (Jnana Yoga) and Path of Action (Karma Yoga).

For his work within the mystic realm, Sai Baba is our TIME MACHINE POET OF THE WEEK.

This is an official PROJECT ASTRAL article.
